Reassembling the Self 1 is one of a suite of 15 lithographs made at the Curwen Studio in 2012 with master printer Stanley Jones. The work was an exploration of self and identity made for the exhibition Reassembling the Self shown at the Hatton Gallery, Newcastle in 2012. Here I am interested in the fragile relationship between the mind and the body. Working with Stanley was a privilege and an inspiration – no-one knows more about lithography. I was the last artist to work with him before he retired. His legacy lives on in the Curwen Print Study Centre.
